The Octopus Tree
Yesterday was a very warm day so Ken and I took a picnic up the Mountain and while we were there I sought out the Octopus Tree, which was a ten minute easy walk into the woods. You can understand why it got its name, to think that many years ago a little seedling took hold on a huge rock and sent its roots down to the ground.

An amazing sight. It is surprising how trees can take hold in the strangest places - be it rocks or roofs
