Schloss Von Ribbeck (specially for Kirsten!)
On our way to Berlin we stopped off at this lovely Schloss where the Family Graveyard contained the graves of several little Ribbecks who had all died of diptheria.
There is a well known German Poem about Mr von Ribbeck who used to grow pears for the local children and when he died they thought that would be the end of the free pears, but in fact he asked to be buried with a pear, so three years after his demise a pear tree grew up over his grave and the children had their pears again.
