Last week it finally happened! The hedge was trimmed to a manageable 7 ft high, but it looks terrible at the moment, hope it will start to shoot soon, and look lovely again. It is amazing how much more light we get into the garden (for the vegies, of course!) and how much more I can see right into the neighbours' kitchen window. Will have to do something about that! I have an idea!!
