What is this????

Can you guess?

Its a one legged bird preening itself on our skylight (or a bird standing on one leg, preening itself on our skylight)
Take your pick.

Our Spring Garden

The Solomon Seal and the (Funeral)Lillies are beautiful at this time of the year. The Apple Tree looks as if there will be plenty of apples and even blossom on some of the grafts we put on the year before last so maybe we will get Bramleys and a couple of other varieties, all on the one tree!! How clever is that, in a small garden?

New Moon

It was a beautiful moonlight night, followed by a sunrise that was just perfect. What else could you wish for?

I would like an uninterrupted view of the water, please couldyou remove that power pole?
AND maybe some night photography lessons.

No. 1 Grandson - Oliver

Oliver popped round for a visit and we presented him with this camourflage top!! Didn't expect he would even put it on, but he obliged, and even posed for a couple of photos, showing his Arny Reserve Haircut recently acquired at the start of his month long stint playing soldiers!

Dog sitting our Grand Dog!

Heidi and Karlo have gone up north for a night away, so we are dog sitting. He has settled down well and spent the night in our bedroom, we learnt our lesson last time we had him, when we thought he should sleep in the laundry, we got no sleep and eventually gave in, he was perfect, didn't snore or fart (unlike someone elese who shall remain nameless!) and was a model sleeping companion.

Moin Moin!

Blanckmans Bay - Landungsbruecke style! My early morning walk this morning, not particularly early, 0730'ish but it is a Public Holiday (Show Day) here so all the Workers arehaving a lie in!

I have finished my latest Audiobook so am filling in with Bill Bryson - again - you can never listen too much to him, he is such a clown.

Its me again - still bragging!!

Heidi, if you double click on the second and fourth flower boxes you will see examples of the succulent you bought, I will let you know when they flower!!!

Now I am back home I have been experimenting with photos, and now send them on large resolution, not so quick as in the Northern Hemisphere, but I have the time.... I think it is worth waiting, for the quality of the photos is superior if you are interested in detail.

I hate to rub it in, but....

here are my flower boxes, replanted with succulents earlier this year!! This really is the way to go here, no more lobelia and allysum etc. out with the fragile and in with the hardy.

The Lady Nelson

This is a replica of The Lady Nelson, which does trips on the Derwent and is a Training Ship. I would not like to have to sort out all those ropes, or get up there, but I suppose it takes all typle.....

Flowers on Succulents!

See my succulents do have flowers, this is not a Schwarzkopf though, it is a Gruenkopf (named by me!) but the flower is the same.

Burj Al Arab

Probably the best known image of Dubai, this is the fourth tallest (only fourth?) hotel in the World and was built to resemble the sail of the Arabian vessel, the Dhow.

It stands out on an island and is connected by a curving bridge to the mainland.
Note the helipad and the restaurant, I don't know whether I would be game to eat there, or to have a game of croquet on the helipad!

Night Photography

My night photography is not all that, but I liked this one of the twin towers.

The World

You might have to zoom in on this one, I had to. It is a photo of the first building (from this side anyway) on The World, which is not going as fast as they thought it would, as people are not rushing to buy islands on The World. Don't blame them, there is no access except by sea or air, and no mod cons either.

The Worlds Largest Lolly Shop!

My photos of The Palm.
