Just show you what else I have been doing at this unearthly hour, experimenting with making carrot sticks for tonight's Fund Raising Dinner Party. They go bendy in water but straighten out again once they are cooked! ( I know 'cos I cooked 'em too!)

That's all folks!
Now I am going back to bed, I have finally got the Sydney trip on, about time too. Afraid it is a bit out of order but what more do you want? We had a good, busy time and accomplished what we set out to do, AND proved we could do it!
Driving over THE bridge
This was a movie, but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to put it on, so you will have to make do with the Stills!
Maria's house
Maria has a great townhouse in a little oasis off a busy road in a suburb called, of all names, Croydon!
And so to bed!
The view from our window onto Darling Harbour was great, as were the big double beds, AND we had one each!
My early morning walk
was not as early as usual but it look me from the tenth floor of our hotel along the boardwalk at Darling Harbour.
Breakfast at The Grounds.
This was a busy breakfast venue for half of Sydney! Apparently they do very well there and you are lucky if you can get in at weekends at all. They had fabulous bread and cakes and lots of good breakfast ideas, it was a job to chose.
And afterwards we visited Kevin and his mates in the small animal enclosure, we just hope he never makes it onto the Menu!
On the way to the Airport
We were only there a short time, but thanks to Maria we certainly packed a lot in! The Art shop and the Italian Warehouse were on the way!

Super Moon
Tonight we have a Super Moon, this is the best I can do but I like the effect of the rain on the roadway.
We will have to wait until September the ninth for the next Super Moon, so I will have another chance then.

It's been a busy week, one way or another!
Heidi and I flew to Sydney, with the aid of Virgin and some very helpful crew! Felt like Royalty, boarding first and seats at the front, they wouldn't let us sit on the Pilot's knee though!
Maria, school time friend of Heidi, and now resident of Sydney, met us and we went straight to Hornsby, through the Tunnel, lots of traffic, so unlike little Hobart.
We soon made our most important purchase:
Then off for lunch at the Fish Market

Winter is really here!
What a week we have had, rain, gale force winds, more rain, freezing temperatures and finally, snow!
No wonder so many Tasmanians go north at this time of the year.
But we are snug and warm in our little house and we think ourselves so lucky that we have a secure roof over our heads. I must admit, the other night I was so scared at the force of the wind against the windows in the bedroom, I put my head under the doona. It seemed to go on for ages and made me think of people who would have had roofs torn off. The north coast, and Burnie in particular, seemed to have copped even worse conditions than us.
But the mountain looked beautiful in its winter mantle of snow
