Don't forget to tap the photo, to see it all!

Two tarts at a Hens Night

Need I say anymore?

Thirty years ago!

Sister June and I were over here for the Wedding go Tim and Mandie.

Here are a few photos, excuse them, having no scanner anymore I had to photograph the originals, so they are not perfect, but you will get the idea.

Still learning!

Yesterday I went for a 1/1session at our new Computer Hub. Didn't learn a lot though.

Meals on Wheels

You can tell she's a Pastrychef! Heidi delivered our Veg Wellington this afternoon, and it tasted even better than it looked (if that is possible)

Am I in my right mind?

I am beginning to wonder whether joining Probus (I am due to be inducted at the February meeting) is the right thing to do! Here are my three neighbours going to this mornings meeting, which was a Teddy Bears Picnic.

Entertaining

Yesterday was a lovely day and Heidi and Karlo came to share our Raclette with us. We needed a dummy run as Jos and Daphne are coming on Wednesday to play Mah Jong and I thought a novelty for them would be Raclette. Long time since we have had it out. Also made a beautiful Apple and Almond Pudding Cake from the double barrelled bloke on River Cottage, a popular Pommie cooking programme here. It was so delicious, in my haste to eat it I omitted to photograph it, sorry.

Boo hoo

It's all packed away for another year. I must say, contrary to expectation, I did enjoy our fake Christmas Tree and now the bay window looks quite bare without its presence. I should not really say that, because now we are back to the lovely view of the mountain, which is no longer clouded in bushfire smoke. The fires hopefully have abated, they are the worst since we have been here, and that is 26 years now.

A bit of sad news while I am here, George had a nasty fall on the second day of his mountain bike riding in N Z and is now out of it. He sustained three small fractures to his lower back and can only spend 20 minutes at a time on his feet, the rest of the time he is flat on his back. He had the option of returning home, but decided to stay in Queenstown with his mates.

Boys will be boys!

George is in Queenstown NZ mountain bike riding in a land which just loves extreme sports!

How about this for a good photo, George is the second rider, bet he gets his mum worried!

Today was a day of total Fire Ban

That means no fires to be lit in the open, no hoses to be used for watering gardens etc etc.

Apparently it has been the hottest day since records began, there are bushfires everywhere and the sky is a funny colour and there is smoke in the air although there are no fires in our area.

It has been horrible, we have stayed indoors most of the time and I have just been out to find quite a few things in the garden have not survived the heat, especially my newly acquired tuberous begonias and mini cyclamen. The basil I bought indoors but even that is looking the worse for wear.

Fortunately there is a cold change coming tonight so tomorrow they are promising a nice 26 degrees.

The nightmare as begun!

Went up to the garden today and the little zucchini of yesterday had become the BIG zucchini of today. So we go into the zucchini phase of our lives.
