Probus Day out to Bonorong

Last Monday we went to Bonorong wildlife park.   It's a good few years since I have been there and I was quite impressed at the alterations they have made.
Here are a few self explanatory photos of a lovely day out.

Finishing with the Tassie Devil.

And a nice view of the surrounding countryside and of course, Mount Wellington.

Australia Day Sausage Sizzle

The street celebrated Australia Day recently in the carport.   Beside sausages we had Lamingtons, which were enjoyed by one and all.

Ken's little holiday

Ken got whisked off to hospital recently, in an ambulance if you please.   But they put him right after four nights and he is back home, hale and hearty.

Probus Australia Day meeting

Yesterday was the outgoing President's Pick for the fun first meeting of the New Year.  She chose an Australian theme, with food ( sausage rolls and Lamingtons) and a quiz all about Australia, so I wasn't a lot of help to my team!
Some of us dressed appropriately!

New App (

Eight dollars later we are still here.

and so is a beautiful picture of the Bridgewater Jerry over Hobart.

Happy New Year

well, it's all over, weather was good, then bad then indifferent.

Today it has been exceptionally hot, and I am having trouble with my blogging so this is a trial.

South Arm

Did a great walk with Probus ladies yesterday, empty beaches, clear blue skies with lovely cloud formations, and a communal picnic to finish it all off.
The highlight was the sight of the Iron Pot Lighthouse, the closest one can get to it except, of
course by boat.   This little island used to have houses and enough children to justify a school. It stands at the mouth of the Derwent River, guarding the entrance to Hobart.
