One of the huge Shopping Malls in Dubai is named after the famous explorer Ibn Battuta (want to know any more, google him) It is a series of connected halls, one for each of the countries he visited. Actually, we recently had a very interesting serious on TV on Ibn Battuta so I was particularly interested to visit this Mall.

Mosques

There is no shortage of these around Dubai, and five times a day you certainly hear them being called to pray. There are Prayer Rooms also in all public buildings and Shopping Malls and if they get caught short, say in a hotel, they will find a discreet arrow pointing towards Mecca.
